Paul Taylor enjoyed some luxurious five-star treatment from Shrewsbury Audi after winning a national magazine competition.
Mr Taylor, from Welshampton, and his family were treated to ‘vroom with a view’ after they won an overnight stay in one of London’s most exclusive hotels and the use of one of the Battlefield Enterprise Park dealership’s flagship cars for the weekend.
The trip to the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel in Knightsbridge was the top prize in a national motoring magazine competition and Shrewsbury Audi made the Taylors’ experience even more special by upgrading their car to a brand new Audi A8 TDI Quattro worth £93,000.
Launched earlier this year, the sensational saloon provided the perfect transport for Mr Taylor to chauffeur-drive his wife Sarah and two sons, 11-year-old Jack and Thomas, aged 9, around the sights – its voice-activated satellite navigation system taking them to the likes of Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament and onto their hotel in comfort and without any hitch.
Like Shrewsbury Audi, the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is part of the Jardine Matheson Group and its five-star accommodation was an ideal base from which to enjoy the capital.
“From start-to-finish, it was a very special weekend and the Audi A8 was absolutely stunning - so comfortable to drive especially in seats that offer five different settings of massage,” said Mr Taylor, a business manager for a Shrewsbury-based timber products company. “I’ve been fortunate to run seven or eight Audis but the boys really loved the latest gizmos onboard this car and the combination of the sat-nav and adaptive cruise control meant all that I really had to do was steer.
“Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park was equally enjoyable and we were looked after like royalty,” he continued. “The service and the attention that we received was second-to-none, which made for a weekend that we will never forget.”
Service Manager Neil Jarvis said that he was delighted that Shrewsbury Audi was able to contribute to a memorable weekend for the Taylor family.
