Audi at the Detroit Motor Show

Every January since 1989, Detroit has become the home of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which is more commonly referred to as the Detroit Motor Show, but motor shows have been held in the city of Michigan since the year of 1899.

Audi showcased the Audi V8 at the international motor show’s inaugural year, and has appeared in many of the years since, including every year since 2006. Concept cars and major new production model launches exhibited over the years have included the Audi Sportback concept in 2009 that won the ‘Excellence in Design Award’, the introduction of the 2003 Audi A4 Cabriolet at the 2002 show, the Audi 100CS quattro in 1992 and more recently, the Audi allroad shooting brake concept in 2014.

This year, the Bavarian brand showcased the innovative h-tron quattro concept, along with the A4 allroad quattro, highlighting many new technological advancements and intelligent innovations.

As a crucial gateway to the North American market, the Detroit Motor Show holds great importance to automotive manufacturers. Additionally, as the first international motor show of the calendar year, it provides a good opportunity to enter the year on a high with new model launches and the unveiling of pioneering concept cars for the whole world to see, just as Audi has done in 2016.
