Enjoy the signature growl of a turbocharged V8 engine – with the roof up or down.
The Ferrari 488 Spider is one of the quickest supercars in its class.
Whether on an everyday journey or a track day, it delivers an enthralling and rewarding driving experience.
A 3.9-litre V8 engine, with seven-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission, produces as much as 661bhp and 760Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. As the revs increase so does the rich and powerful roar of the engine. The 488 Spider can move from 0-60mph in just over three seconds and is capable of a top speed of 203mph. The combination of distinct gear ratios and Variable Torque Management produces rapid gear shifts and acceleration. The higher you go through the gears, the greater the torque values are.
A new infotainment system provides essential data that remains in the driver’s eyeline. Apple CarPlay is integrated with the vehicle’s own display so that it mirrors the output of your iPhone. Keyless start enables you to start or stop the car simply by pressing the Start/Stop button located on the steering wheel. The newest iteration of Electronic Stability Programme and advanced Anti-lock Braking System are both included as standard. A Brembo Extreme Design braking system ensures that stopping distances are now nine percent better than that of the 458 Spider.
Inside the vehicle, controls are located on a three-spoke steering wheel and on wraparound satellite pods, ensuring that they are always easy for the driver to reach. The dashboard curves inwards and features sporty air vents at either end. New seats have been designed for driver and co-passenger and feature fixed headrests. There is plenty of leg and headroom, particularly the latter when the roof is retracted. A useful luggage tray is also positioned behind the seats, and storage pockets are located on the doors. A 230-litre boot can be found in the nose of the car.
The 488 Spider features a retractable hardtop (RHT), which opens and closes in just 14 seconds, whether the car is moving or not.
Aerodynamics are not affected because the roof, when down, takes up 50 to 100 litres of space less than that of a typical hard top.
It is also lighter than conventional hard and soft tops, approximately 40kg and 25kg respectively.
An electrically-powered rear window can be operated at any time, even if the roof is closed.
The car’s chassis utilises 11 different aluminium alloys, including magnesium, which all help produce a lighter frame that is just as rigid as its coupé counterpart.
Stylish 20-inch five-spoke wheels each feature the marque’s Prancing Horse emblem at their centre.Blu Corsa is a new livery that has been created especially for the 488 Spider.
