Ferrari have released the first images of a new convertible version of the incredible LaFerrari which has been designed for clients and collectors who prefer driving a hypercar with the wind in their hair.
Ferrari have said that details of the new LaFerrari, such as the official name, technical characteristics and quantity, will be announced when it debuts at the Paris International Motorshow 2016 in October.
However, this hasn’t stopped clients placing their orders. All available examples were quickly snapped up following a special preview event before the images were released to the public.
What we do know is that the new LaFerrari will be available with both a removable carbon-fibre hard top and a removable soft-top. It will also contain the same hybrid drivetrain fitted in the original LaFerrari, which comprises a 6.2-litre V12 engine coupled with a 120 kW electric motor.
As a result, we can expect identical performance figures of around 950bhp, a 0-62 time of just 2.9 seconds and a sensational top speed of 218 mph.
Achieving the same performance figures as the Coupé version required some impressive modifications by Ferrari’s team of engineers. Ferrari have confirmed that significant adjustments have been made to the chassis to ensure that the convertible LaFerrari regains the same torsional stiffness as the Coupé. Additionally, they have focused more on the supercar’s aerodynamics to guarantee the same drag coefficient whilst driving with an open top.For more information on any new or used Ferrari cars enquire online here on the Jardine Motors website or contact our Lancaster Ferrari Colchester dealership.
