The opening of Lancaster Ferrari’s rebuilt Colchester showrooms was celebrated on 6th February with an evening of socialising and entertainment for customers and staff, featuring addresses from senior figures at both Ferrari and Jardine Motor Group. The previous buildings were completely demolished in July 2013, with the £1.2m construction of a new showroom and standalone aftersales facilities completed in December.
After relaxing with cocktails, canapés and music, guests were treated to a video of the new 458 Speciale model. There was then an introductory address outlining the history of the Colchester site, which first became a partner of Ferrari nearly four decades ago in 1976 and is therefore one of the manufacturer’s longest-standing locations in Britain.
Speeches from Mark Herbert, Chief Executive of Jardine Motor Group, and Ferrari North representative Francesco Balli paid tribute to the dealership’s illustrious past and the quality of its new facilities. A video message from the Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo praised the hard work of Mr. Herbert and the General Manager Simon Beecher in creating premises “that meet the needs of our customers and are a delight to visit”. A commemorative plaque was then awarded to Mr. Beecher and his team, before the evening closed with a final video of Ferrari Racing Days and more celebrations.
Lancaster Ferrari would like to thank all of our customers for their patience in waiting for the reconstruction of the Colchester site, and look forward to seeing them in their new and improved facilities soon.
