The EU has developed a new test to measure fuel consumption and CO₂ figures called the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). Official consumption (combined) for the Jaguar F-TYPE Convertible P300 R-Dynamic range is between 215 and 221mpg and CO2 Emissions (combined): is between 239 and 244(g/km). All vehicles are tested according to WLTP technical procedures. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and equivalent electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles, vehicle load (and, for battery electric vehicles, the starting charge of the battery). Figures for plug-in hybrid vehicles were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. Plug-in hybrid vehicles require mains electricity for charging. Figures quoted are subject to change due to ongoing approvals/changes and range figures may include options not available in the UK.
On its launch in 2013, the F-TYPE was described as the spiritual successor to the 1961 E-type, a car so iconic that even Enzo Ferrari was moved to describe it as ‘the most beautiful car in the world’. In between E and F there had been other two-door sporting Jaguars such as the XJ-S and XK, but these were luxury grand tourers, whereas the F-TYPE was designed from the start as an uncompromising sports car. Time moves on, and now the new 2020 F-TYPE features a design refresh, technology update and revised powertrain line-up.
The F-TYPE’s updated cockpit now features a configurable 12.3-inch driver display, with graphics that are unique to this model. In default mode this displays a large central tachometer. A central 10” touchscreen controls the Connected Navigation Pro5 system, which has real time traffic updates and online music streaming as well as smartphone compatibility via Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™.
As part of the 2020 upgrade, the new F-TYPE comes with Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition as standard. Front and rear parking sensors and rear camera take the stress out of low-speed manoeuvring in car parks or tight spaces. Optional systems include Park Assist, which will take over the steering when it selects a suitable space for parallel or perpendicular parking. Another option, Blind Spot Assist keeps an eye out for traffic that’s in your blind spot when on motorways.
