F-PACE becomes fastest-selling Jaguar in brand history

Jaguar’s first ever SUV, the F-PACE, has broken an incredible record to become the brand’s fastest-selling car ever in their 94-year history.

Since they hit the British roads in mid-April, a total of 30,000 models have now been sold across the globe, and Jaguar has had to secure additional cars in order to keep up with the demand. If the current interest in the model continues, it is possible that another production line will need to be built at Jaguar’s Solihull factory.

According to online data, an incredible 1.6m people have searched the Jaguar website for the F-PACE, 370,000 of which even taking the time to configure the model to their exact specification. This figure is likely to be even higher when taking into account retailers such as Lancaster Jaguar, who also carry the car available for exploration and test drives.

Jeremy Hicks, managing director of JLR UK, said: ‘The response to F-PACE around the world has been sensational. Demand for the car in the UK has exceeded even our most optimistic assumptions.’

According to Jaguar, around 90% of F-PACE buyers are new to the marque, which is also helping to drive down the average age of Jaguar owners as younger drivers are drawn to the powerful model. The country-wide craze for SUVs has helped to define the F-PACE as one of the most popular models in the UK, and interest in smaller SUV crossovers has suggested that Jaguar may intend to create a smaller version of the F-PACE in the new plants set to open overseas.

The F-PACE has attracted plenty of attention since its release, winning the Auto Express Car of the Year 2016 award among many others, and it is far from slowing down. As Jaguar continues to grow in popularity, the only question left is: what’s next for the F-PACE?
