Jaguar Land Rover launches InMotion

InMotion is a new wholly-owned technology subsidiary of Jaguar Land Rover that creates apps and on-demand services that offer engaging and relevant solutions to modern transportation and travel challenges.

In the coming months, the brand will begin real-world testing in North America, Europe and Asia of numerous services, including car sharing and vehicle ownership solutions.

Group Strategy Director at Jaguar Land Rover, Adrian Hallmark, commented: ‘With the development of new apps and on-demand services, InMotion provides us with an opportunity to provide engaging and invaluable experiences to both new and existing customers globally.’

Technology has become an essential aspect of transport, evolving the way that we travel – we can now access our cars by simply swiping a screen, but with our increasingly busy lives, we’re always looking for ways to improve on that, and so is Jaguar Land Rover. People want to improve their commute, to access the car they want – whenever they want to. InMotion brings together the highlights from both automotive and technology divisions to cultivate new solutions that customers can access through smartphones and other connected devices.

In order to know what to develop, InMotion conducts thorough research, gathering data from all around the globe and learning about issues in the world of transport in need of solutions; insights provided by this data allow Jaguar Land Rover to experiment and find the most effective.

The business model and technology platform are then developed, followed by a beta launch to the public. With financial and technological support from Jaguar Land Rover, InMotion has the scope to be responsive and independent, creating nimble services and solutions that react to the automotive industry’s quick pace.

Hallmark went on to say, ‘As a start-up business, InMotion combines the flexibility and pace needed to compete in the ever-changing mobility sector. It allows us to react quickly to new tech and ever-changing customer demands.’

It sounds like it won’t be long before we see the impact of InMotion in Jaguar Land Rover’s vehicles, and it’s sure to enhance each and every journey.
