Jaguar XE to get all-wheel drive option

The Jaguar XE saloon was new for 2015 and Jaguar is already planning its updates for the 2016 model refresh. The XE rivals the BMW 3 Series, and the premium saloon will be made available with an all-wheel drive option plus a wealth of new interior and engine technology.

In 2016, buyers will be able to take advantage of part-time all-wheel drive when they opt for the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. This unit develops 178bhp and is paired with an eight-speed automatic ZF gearbox. This power, combined with all-wheel drive, makes the XE a capable vehicle on a wide range of terrains and gradients. Power is sent to the rear wheels during normal driving conditions and transfers it to the wheels that need it when the Intelligent Driveline Dynamics system detects a loss of traction.

Adaptive Surface Response is a further addition that adjusts the engine output and stability control according to the situation. Configurable Dynamics are also available, which have individual settings for throttle response, gearshift speed and adaptive dampers.

The InControl Touch Pro system will be added to the list of options, which brings a 10.2-inch touchscreen to the cabin alongside features such as intelligent navigation.
