Land Rover Discovery 5

The All-New Land Rover Discovery is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles in Land Rover’s history – and it’s finally here. This fifth-generation model has been described as the most versatile SUV ever, offering unrivalled Land Rover capability in a faster, lighter and more economical package.

Since the original Discovery was launched in 1989, 1.2 million examples have been sold, highlighting this accomplished vehicle’s lasting popularity. But this is the most capable off-roader yet, offering class-best wading ability of 900mm and greater ground clearance – it’s an extremely desirable, versatile and proficient premium SUV.

All-New Discovery took on the world’s toughest environments during testing, from mountains to deserts and sub-zero settings – that’s how we know it’s unstoppable on any surface and ideal for adventures.

This new incarnation is considerably cleaner than any previous Discovery, even though it’s bigger both inside and out – and this seven-seater features plusher materials and greater soundproofing.

Land Rover vehicles offer supreme levels of safety and security, and All-New Discovery is no exception. Benefit from various state-of-the-art safety systems, including Lane Keep Assist with Driver Condition Monitor, Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, Dynamic Stability Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and a Surround Camera System.

Head-up Display is available too, putting all necessary vehicle information directly in vision so you needn’t look away from the road. Better yet, four-wheel drive with high and low ranges means you’ll be safe on any terrain.

Park Assist includes Parallel Park, Parking Exit and Perpendicular Park, so you can confidently park wherever you go in your Discovery.

Land Rover has developed pioneering technology with the waterproof ‘Activity Key’. Wear it on your wrist - leaving other keys inside the Discovery – and hold the wristband against the Discovery badge on the tailgate. This locks the vehicle and disables all keys inside.

The sleek, curvaceous lines of the All-New Discovery are alluring and enticing; this Land Rover features a ‘floating roof’, clamshell bonnet, slimmer front grille, slender headlights, wraparound rear lights and a sloped rear window – and has kept its lofty rear. This allowed the Discovery to retain its status as a true seven-seater, with all seats offering enough space for adults.

The seats in the two rear rows are fully movable and configurable, allowing you to easily switch between passenger and load space – this Intelligent Seat Fold system can be controlled through the touchscreen, switches in the vehicle and uniquely through the InControl Remote app.

Built on the brand’s aluminium monocoque, this fifth-generation Discovery has shed 20% of its weight, improving economy and increasing interior space.

This modern, classy creation is available with 18 – 22-inch wheels depending on specification, with the highest level alloys simply adding to the Discovery’s muscular looks.

The All-New Discovery has been generously equipped with the latest Land Rover technology, including a direct online connection from around the world through the InControl Remote app.

If you tow, you’ll be pleased to know that Advanced Tow Assist can reverse a caravan, horsebox or trailer into a space with you just using a rotary controller and pedals - and Trailer Light Test means you can now check your lights yourself.

It’s comfortable driving the Discovery, with all-independent self-levelling air suspension gliding over bumps. Suspension can be lowered by 40mm when stationary for vehicle access.

Upgrade to top trim and you can benefit from up to nine USB ports, four 12V charging points, an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot and even a 17-speaker Meridian Audio system, controlled from the central touchscreen.

The latest Terrain Response 2 system and the marque’s All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) enhance the driving experience on and off-road.
