Design The new Range Rover Sport makes a striking impression, being clean, lean and purposeful. The main difference between it and the luxury flagship Range Rover comes in the roofline, which tapers dramatically to a coupé-style tail. That is accentuated by an angled waistline with flush-fitting glass and a lower line that converges at the rear with waistline and roof. The slimmest headlights ever fitted to a Range Rover flank a slim, visor-like grille. The overall impression of a lean predator coiled to spring into action is created by the combination of muscular stance, dramatic proportions and short overhangs.
Technology All Range Rover Sport models feature all-wheel drive as standard and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s equally impressive on or off road, with Terrain Response 2, Adaptive Dynamics and Dynamic Air Suspension delivering agility and precision. Your powertrain options include two plug-in electric hybrids, both featuring a 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine coupled with a 32kWh battery pack. The P440e delivers 440hp while the P510e, logically enough, develops 510hp; both will cover a claimed 70 miles on electric power alone. Diesel engines comprise the D300 and and D350, both based on a straight six, while the petrol options consist of a mild-hybrid six-cylinder with 400hp, or a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 with 530hp. A high performance SVR model will be introduced later.
Safety The new Range Rover Sport is based on the new JLR MLA-Flex platform and offers a full array of driver assistance systems. These include including Blind Spot Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Driver Condition Response, Rear Collision Monitor, Rear Traffic Monitor, Occupant Protection Assist, Emergency Braking, 3D Surround Camera, Lane Keep Assist, Front and Rear Parking Aid as well as Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Speed Limiter.
Features The interior of the Range Rover Sport is beautifully uncluttered and executed using the finest materials. A 13.1" touchscreen floats above the leather-clad dashboard and offers the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, with full Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly integrated. A Meridian Sound System delivers crisp, clear, and powerful audio and Amazon Alexa capability is another standard feature. The Range Rover Sport comes with an Online Pack and Data Plan, and your smartphone will be well cared for thanks to wireless charging with phone signal booster.
