The Lexus LC 500 was unveiled in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the Lexus LC 500h, the hybrid variant, was revealed in March at the Geneva Motor Show – but the 2016 New York International Auto Show played host to the double reveal, with both the LC 500 and LC 500h appearing together for the first time.

The athletically-designed flagship LC coupé is already an award-winner, presented with EyesOn Design awards for Production Car and Best Designed Interior, thanks to its outstanding visual appeal and high-end, ergonomically designed cabin.

Its aerodynamic styling, wide, imposing stance and sensual curves have been widely acclaimed, as well as its brilliant performance and fine craftsmanship. Experience enhanced dynamic capability thanks to first use of Lexus’ premium all-new rear-wheel drive platform, which offers a taste of what’s to come from the brand, plus smooth gear changes with the newly developed 10-speed automatic transmission, which is being used here for the first time ever in a luxury car.

This unveiling marked the LC 500h’s North American debut, a hybrid creation offering exhilarating performance and supreme efficiency through the world’s first Multi Stage Hybrid System. This next-generation hybrid powertrain has been specially designed to power performance vehicles, closely aligning engine speed with throttle inputs, balancing power with fuel consumption.
