Lexus Preview design for a new model at home motor show

At its home motor show, Lexus previews the design for a new model. The concept may hint at what to expect to see in the new LS and Lexus says it will “capture the company’s vision of progressive luxury”.

The Japanese firm has also released a cryptic teaser photo, showing just a sleek headlamp design. This design has distinct echoes of the newly-updated Lexus GS, adding weight to the theory that this concept will showcase a new upgrade to the range.

The LS is the second-oldest model in the Lexus range, younger only than the CT200h, so it is a prime candidate for a refresh. We can expect to see a restyled exterior and new cabin design, embodying Lexus’ premium contemporary aesthetic.

In addition, a new LS model would almost certainly offer advanced technology such as autonomous driving features to rival the BMW 7 Series’ wealth of technology. Lexus has a strong reputation for fast, efficient hybrid powertrains and this engineering is also likely to benefit from a leap forward.
