WardsAuto, a respected motoring resource based in the US, has named the Lexus RX on two of its ‘2016 10 Best’ lists: 2016 10 Best User Experiences and 2016 10 Best Interiors. The fourth-generation Lexus RX has been hand-picked by a team of automotive experts for many reasons including its supreme build quality, infotainment, driver aids and instruments.
The Lexus RX is available to test drive at Lancaster, and WardsAuto has revealed many reasons why you should explore this luxurious, versatile vehicle for yourself.
Earlier this year, new and significantly redesigned vehicles were shortlisted for each category, with 29 in the best user experiences category and 47 in the best interiors category. A team of WardsAuto editors closely inspected and tested each of these cars over a prolonged period of time in real-world conditions to calculate which 10 topped each of the lists.
Tom Murphy, WardsAuto Senior Editor, described the RX’s many excellent features, ‘including an ergonomic palm-rest and joystick that, once learned and adjusted for a driver’s preference, becomes second nature’, all contributing to the user experience. The ‘trouble-free smartphone pairing, an outstanding colour head-up display, detailed maps and multiple ways to access menus and information’ were also highlighted, exemplifying the Lexus RX’s class, quality and user-friendly assets.
This striking, luxury SUV was the only vehicle in its class to be named a winner in the WardsAuto 2016 10 Best User Experiences list, highlighting its superiority from a user experience perspective.
For the 2016 10 Best Interiors list, aesthetics and design harmony, materials, ergonomics, safety, comfort, value and fit-and-finish were considered, as well as the user-friendliness of the RX’s interface. Thanks to a cutting-edge exterior and interior design, a high level of specification and advanced powertrain offerings, the RX secured its place in WardsAuto’s list, described as having an ‘impeccable fit-and-finish, satin brushed aluminium trim, form-fitting seats, crisply lit gauges and display screen’.
Peter McGregor, Lexus Australia chief executive, said: ‘The RX interior exudes progressive design matched with beautiful materials and superb quality to deliver a feeling of premium luxury for which Lexus is renowned. We are thrilled WardsAuto has recognised the attention to detail and thought our designers and engineers applied to producing this special interior of our progressive, mid-size SUV.’
Murphy also commented: ‘Lexus has a knack for designing quiet, comfortable vehicles, and we see the new RX as a calm connection to an otherwise busy world’ – and at Lancaster, we couldn’t agree more. Experience its first-class interior and superior user experience for yourself by booking a test drive this autumn.
