The RX, Lexus’ luxury SUV, now comes in hybrid form, meaning buyers can now choose a highly fuel efficient variant of this desirable model.
The RX 450h features a 3.5-litre V6 engine in combination with an electric motor on each axle.
This delivers approximately 300bhp, 473Nm of torque, 0-60mph in around 7.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 124mph. CO2 emissions are as low as 120g/km, which can save businesses £100 per month on company car tax. It also delivers up to 51.4mpg on a combined cycle.
The 450h is at its most cost-effective when driven around town because energy is regenerated from the engine and drivetrain.
The upmarket cabin delivers the kind of build quality and materials that Lexus aficionados have come to expect. Interior space has been improved thanks to the wheelbase being extended by 12 centimetres. Legroom at the back is noticeably better and is now the equal of virtually any comparable vehicle. The combination of tempered suspension and anti-roll bars, among other things, ensures the 450h offers a more refined ride. The comfortable drive is enhanced by sound-dampening materials that keep exterior noises to a minimum.
Boot space is expandable, thanks to sliding, tilting and folding rear seats. Lashing points and bag hooks are featured too.
The RX450h is a well-equipped, sumptuously comfortable and sturdily-built car that is unashamedly aimed at drivers who value comfort and refinement over thrills and spills.
