2016 Maserati Levante spy shots reveal new design

The new luxury SUV from Maserati looks set to enter production ahead of its 2016 release. The Levante has been seen testing on public roads with less body disguise than previous tests, giving a firm idea of what it will look like. The production Levante will be very different to the original concept which was displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2011.

The new model exhibits a conventional SUV silhouette and traditional proportions, with a rakish sloped roofline and a long bonnet. The incoming Levante will preview at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, and this appearance will mark its global debut. The new Maserati is then expected to arrive at UK showrooms later in 2016.

The Levante will showcase many new features which will eventually be included throughout the range. In addition to the V6 and V8 engines on offer, there will be a range of plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Levante will therefore offer superior on and off-road performance as well as the style and luxury that are hallmarks of the Maserati brand.
