McLaren will create the most extensive display of car models ever showcased on their return to Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer.
The ‘Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power’ display will be a celebration of race wins and titles spanning more than 50 years of McLaren history. The collection will honour the drivers and teams that have claimed the racing podium’s top step.
See iconic McLaren race cars on show alongside the full range of current McLaren models in their Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series, including the newly released 570GT.
McLaren will also return to Goodwood’s Supercar Paddock with models from each of its ranges.
They will be joined by the 650S Can Am as well as the P1 GTR from the Ultimate Series, the most powerful McLaren ever built.
The Festival of Speed will also see the global debut of the recently announced track-only 570S Sprint.
The 2016 season is a key anniversary for McLaren motorsport and will feature a raft of celebrations, including the 50th anniversary of the Can Am series. To mark the occasion McLaren will show an M8D from the 1970 Can Am season, finished in the marque’s emblematic orange heritage livery.
2016 also marks 40 years since James Hunt’s dramatic Formula 1 title for McLaren and 30 years since driver Alain Prost claimed his second world title.
And the iconic MP4-2C Formula 1 car will be on display, representing 50 years sine McLaren entered the championship. The MP4-2C was driven by Keke Rosberg and Alain Prost, who claimed four race victories in the car during 1986. He went on to win his second Driver’s Championship title that year.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 23 – 26 June 2016 at the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. Buy tickets online here.
