C-Class Cabriolet Design

DESIGN

This striking new Cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz is based on the C-Class Coupé, but features a longer rear deck, slightly increased height and unique styling details. Its long, elegant bonnet and striking diamond radiator grille give the front end a true muscular presence, with LED High Performance headlamps lighting the way. Chiselled lines along the sides of the bodywork give the C-Class Cabriolet a sleek profile with added athleticism, leading the eye from the aggressive front to the strong rear haunches. The wide shoulders and flush LED tail lights define the distinctive rear end. The cabin offers the height of Mercedes-Benz refinement, designed to maximise comfort and enhance the driving experience. A selection of sophisticated features have been fitted in order to deliver this, including heat-reflecting leather and stylish sports seats, complete with side bolsters and integrated headrests, which provide excellent lateral support when driving on twisty roads and corners.

TECHNOLOGY

Mercedes-Benz has incorporated some clever thinking into the C-Class Cabriolet - with the chilly UK weather and a convertible vehicle, you would usually expect some issues to arise – and with this clever Cabriolet, you needn’t worry. When the roof has peeled back, the automatic AIRCAP draught stop system deploys, which is built into the windscreen frame; a second screen emerges from behind the rear seats too, keeping the cabin cosy and letting the air glide over passengers’ heads. If any of that cold air is still being felt in the cabin, there’s no need to worry, as optional AIRSCARF neck-level heating circulates warmth around the upper cockpit. Drivers can specify DYNAMIC SELECT on the C-Class Cabriolet, offering five transmission modes to suit particular driving styles. Some model variants also offer the latest Mercedes-Benz infotainment system, the marque’s advanced Live Traffic Information navigation and the new, innovative Mercedes me connect package.

SAFETY

Mercedes-Benz prides itself on unparalleled safety systems and vehicle protection, the C-Class Cabriolet is no exception. This design features the pioneering Cabriolet roll-over protection system, offering peace of mind at all times and keeping occupants as safe as possible in the unfortunate event of an incident. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet benefits from cutting-edge safety technology throughout, including: Attention Assist, which monitors the driver’s levels of attention, warning when a break from driving is required and; Collision Prevention Assist Plus, which alerts the driver when the gap to the vehicle in front is too close – it can even automatically apply braking power with Brake Assist if an imminent collision is detected, averting or lessening rear-end collisions. Further innovative safety features are available too, including Active Lane Keeping Assist, Mercedes-Benz’s adaptive cruise control system DISTRONIC PLUS, complete with motorway steering assistance, plus a 360-degree camera, parking assistance and innovative pedestrian detection.
