On August 31st Jardine Mercedes-Benz dealerships literally worked through the night to make their customers some of the very first drivers in the UK to drive their all-new 66-plate cars home.
The Ipswich, Lakeside and Chelmsford teams pulled out all the stops to ensure their customers could drive their cars away on the stroke of midnight, with Lakeside, holding their handover event off-site for the first time at the luxurious Orsett Hall Hotel.
Across the three sites, 90-plus customers enjoyed a casino night, one-to-one handovers, cupcakes, refreshments and goody bags before they jumped in their cars at 11.55pm, started their engines and departed on their maiden road trips at 12:01am.
Darren Jennings, Brand Director for Jardine Mercedes-Benz has been delighted by the feedback from customers.
“This is the fifth time that we’ve staged our midnight handovers, but never on this scale with all three sites participating,” said Darren. “The atmosphere this year was electric, with customers enjoying the casino and off-site venues in particular.
“Buying a new car is one of the biggest purchases that anyone will make in their lifetime, so we want to make sure their experience is as unforgettable and exciting as possible. Feedback from our customers has been tremendous – and those that took part received the full Mercedes-Benz experience from our teams, away from the hustle and bustle of the busiest automotive retail day of the year.”
The new range of 66-plate Mercedes-Benz and smart cars is now available from our Jardine Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Lakeside and Southend – including the all-new C-Class Cabriolet, GLC-Class and SLC roadster.
