Since being unveiled in 2014, the striking MINI Superleggera concept car has been causing a stir – and now it has been greenlighted for production, expected in 2018.
With the MINI range set to refocus and concentrate on five ‘superhero’ models, the Superleggera will be a key player in this line-up, with the slinky MINI speedster blending a British-born icon with the finest Italian tailoring.
This sensational two-seater soft-top captures the essence of driving fun, character and charisma with go-kart agility, MINI attitude and Italian flair. The MINI Superleggera combines stunning design with thrilling performance and the height of technology to offer a truly exciting, quality driving experience.
Eye-catching Como Blue paint makes this light, sharp and agile handcrafted MINI stand out. Its elegant design with an athletic edge features sweeping lines, polished aluminium accents, a wide stance, round headlights and a hexagonal grille; two-part LED Union Jack rear lights offer a unique view from behind.
On the inside, aluminium is complemented by traditional wood and leather for a unique look. Doors feature a Union Jack design too, plus bucket-shaped black leather sports seats offer optimum comfort.
It’s understood that this pioneering MINI roadster is set to be a plug-in hybrid-electric vehicle, but output has not yet been confirmed – no doubt it’ll be just as nippy as the iconic MINI creations we already know and love.
