Toyota Avensis

Introduction

The all-new Toyota Avensis comes in Saloon or Touring Sports editions, both of which offer unique personality and luxury appeal.

The car is comfortable and responsive to drive, and its refined powertrains are capable of delivering rewarding returns no matter how far you travel.

The British-built Avensis is on sale at Lancaster Toyota today. Enquire with your nearest dealership site to schedule a test drive and find out more from our team.

Technology

Buyers have a choice between a 1.8-litre 147HP petrol engine or two diesel units.

The petrol can be coupled with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission which both deliver rapid gear changes as well as economical returns.

For the cleanest output choose the 112HP 1.6-litre diesel in the saloon as it releases only 108g/km of CO2. If you want more muscle under the bonnet opt for the 143HP 2.0-litre diesel.

Design

The new Avensis has been designed to be aerodynamic, and its low drag coefficient gives it a graceful appearance as well as improving performance and economy.

Each variant includes LED headlamps that sweep backwards away from the narrow upper grille, plus distinctive v-shaped LED light guides on the rear.

Alloy wheels, privacy glass and cornering lights are also fitted as standard to make the Avensis extremely well-equipped.

Inside there's a similarly high level of refinement to be found.

The three-spoke leather steering wheel includes audio and telephone controls while behind it is a clear colour TFT multi-information display to keep you fully informed.

The tallest passengers enjoy plenty of legroom on the rear bench, and you can fold all or part of the seat to carry longer items if needed.

Safety

Toyota Safety Sense, an integrated system of active safety technologies to aid the driver's concentration and deal with potentially hazardous circumstances before they occur, is standard equipment on the new Avensis.

The suite includes the Pre-Collision System (which automatically engages the brake pedal to prevent or weaken low-speed impacts), Lane Departure Alert (which sounds aural and visual alarms if the driver appears to be drifting into another lane without indicating).

Automatic High Beam (which switches from high beam to low beam to avoid dazzling other drivers), and Road Sign Assist (which displays information from the last road sign you passed, in case you missed it).

Meanwhile Brake Assist (BA) and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) join Vehicle Stability Control Plus (VSC+) to aid the vehicle's stability if dangerous situations arise.

If an impact does occur, the car's seven Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags and ISOFIX child seat fixings help protect the driver and passengers.
