Toyota Hilux

Introduction

Toyota’s eighth-generation Hilux is the best yet – tougher, stronger, more capable, longer, wider and taller than the previous generation. Having sold 16 million units since its launch in 1968, the Hilux is known for its Quality, Durability and Reliability (QDR), which the new model offers by the bucket-load.

A rugged new look, added cabin and load space, as well a genuine go-anywhere attitude make the Hilux an all-round achiever, and with increased towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes for the UK market, is there anything it can’t do?

Find style, comfort, safety and innovative technology in the new Hilux, as well as efficient, economical engine options, smooth, quiet transmission choices, comfortable new suspension and a sophisticated interior.

Design

The new Hilux has a refreshed exterior design, with a solid road presence, sleek styling, a powerful bumper, light clusters, muscular wheel arches with 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels and a large, aggressive grille, expressing the pick-up’s toughness and refinement.

With Single, Extra and Double Cab variants all boasting impressive ground clearance, a new and stronger ladder chassis and reinforced deck, the Hilux is ready for any challenge. In addition to the five popular bodywork colours, the range now includes eye-catching Orange Spice, Volcano Red and Hydro Blue.

The quality cabin boasts an uncluttered dashboard and black upholstery available in a choice of three finishes, depending on Hilux specification chosen: tough, hardwearing fabric, high-quality, soft-textured, durable fabric or high-grade leather.

Safety

State-of-the-art Toyota Safety Sense is included on the new Hilux, boasting various active safety systems that process information from a laser and a camera to either avoid the occurrence of an accident completely or lower the impact.

Pre-Collision System identifies vehicles on the road ahead; Lane Departure Alert warns the driver if the Hilux is sensed to be straying from its lane; Automatic High Beam detects headlights of oncoming vehicles, dimming high beam when required; Road Sign Assist convenient displays information on the cockpit’s TFT display; Adaptive Cruise Control keeps the Hilux at a minimum pre-set distance from the vehicle ahead; Pedestrian Detection warns the driver when a potential collision with a pedestrian is identified.

Technology

Start your Hilux experience with its Smart Entry and Start system and discover the high-tech cabin that’s bursting with innovative features.

An integrated 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system sits on the dashboard, plus an additional 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display provides the driver with the most pertinent driving information.

Experience innovative Start & Stop technology in the Hilux, which, when used in conjunction with the 2.4-litre D-4D engine - paired with a six-speed manual gearbox - can return up to 39.8mpg on the combined cycle, with emissions as low as 187g/km CO2.

Benefit from better equipment in the Hilux, with all models boasting Traction Control (A-TRC), Downhill Assist Control (DAC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and daytime running lights featuring 12 white LEDs.
