Exactly 15 years ago, Toyota and the Environmental Media Association formed a partnership to bring the Prius hybrid to Hollywood. It has recently been back to this high-profile location with a transformed appearance – at a green carpet event.

With Toyota’s big milestone coinciding with the 25th annual Environmental Media awards at Warner Bros Studios in California, it seemed only right for the all-new 2016 Prius to make its Hollywood debut at such an occasion.

The awards honour film and television productions that communicate environmental messages in creative and influential ways, and this year, The Simpsons was awarded with a special tribute to mark 25 years of excellence in environmental messaging. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin David and Don Henley were amongst the honourees.

‘The entertainment industry elevated Prius to a cultural icon and made hybrids cool’, said Bob Carter, Senior Vice President of Automotive Operations for Toyota Motor Sales, USA. ‘Toyota and Lexus are proud to support and celebrate Hollywood’s positive influence and impact on the planet’.

The 2016 Prius has been redesigned from top to bottom, which is evident in its remarkable design. With state-of-the-art technology and impressive MPG, the new Prius is more fun to drive than ever – and doesn’t cost the earth.

The recently launched Toyota Mirai made an appearance too, showcasing its hydrogen powered fuel cell with a range of 312 miles. By combining hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, the only ‘emission’ from the exhaust is water vapour.
