Now in its eighth generation, the Toyota Hilux has traditionally been designed as a purpose-built commercial vehicle, a functional pick-up that’s capable of anything. Now tougher, stronger and more proficient than ever before, the 2016 Hilux has been refined for real life and it has a rugged yet refined style to match.
The Hilux is no longer seen as just a reliable workhorse – it’s also an extremely popular activity-enabling lifestyle vehicle, a versatile alternative to an SUV.
Exterior designer Satoru Oya said ‘The design proposal was to push the toughness element, but we changed the concept more towards an emotional connection of stylish and strong.’
And that’s exactly what they’ve done, as the 2016 Toyota Hilux is broad and sleek from the front, thanks to its bold wheel arches, slim grille and headlamps. From the side, careful sculpting creates soft visuals and a clear beltline uniting the front, cabin and load bay areas of the Hilux, flowing around to the muscular rear.
Pick from eight bodywork paint colours and benefit from alloy wheels with Icon and Invincible specifications. You can even choose to add to your Hilux with over 100 centre-fit accessories available, including genuine and canopy hardtops.
