Safety

The Golf Match Edition offers a variety of safety enhancements to ensure you and your passengers are protected as much as possible on every journey. Technologies such as Enhanced Stabilisation Control that monitors the progress of your wheels in case they start to slip are always been tested and enhanced by Volkswagen to make every drive as safe as possible. Latest manufacturing methods also contribute to Volkswagen’s impressive safety record, including state of the art laser welding to ensure that the inner cell structure becomes much stronger and able to absorb more energy, protecting drivers and passengers.

The Golf Match Edition includes an enhanced PreCrash preventive occupant protection system that identifies the possibility of an accident and immediately takes precautionary measures. The electronic windows and optional panoramic sunroof automatically close, with front seatbelts also tensed as a precautionary measure. In the event of an accident the Volkswagen crumple zones, ISOFIX child seat fixings and airbags also activate to offer maximum protection.

Driver aids fitted as standard for the Golf Match Edition include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to maintain a predetermined distance to the car in front in certain conditions. Front and rear parking sensors and the City emergency braking system that boosts brake pressure when required are fitted as standard. The Adaptive Cruise Control also includes Front Assist to utilise radar sensors monitoring traffic situations in front of the car and warns of a potential rear-end collision.

Design

Volkswagen is known for its classic design appeal, impressive use of space and quality finish. Stylish design elements such as body coloured bumpers on the front and rear as well as chrome detailing on the front radiator grille and air intake come as standard on the Golf Match Edition. There is also a host of luxuries that distinguish the interior such as white instrument lighting that lends a glow of sophistication. The Match Edition’s interior is also upholstered in ‘Zoom/Micro’ cloth and ‘Brushed Dark Silver’ decorative inserts for the door and dash panels. Impressive 16 inch ‘Dover’ alloy wheels characterise the exterior complemented by front fog lights which include static cornering function.

Technology

Standard features on the Golf Match Edition include front comfort seats with height and lumbar adjustment, a leather-trimmed three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and gear knob, and an alarm with interior protection.

New driver profile selection technology gives you the freedom to choose the driving style you prefer, with the speed limiter and cruise control on hand to help take the strain out of any journey. The Golf Match Edition also benefits from an automatic dimming interior rear-view mirror and automatic rain sensor, allowing you to concentrate on driving.

Volkswagen likes to make things simple. That is why the mirrors on the Golf Match Edition offer automatic kerb-view adjustment on the passenger’s door when reversing. They are also electrically foldable so you do not have to worry about your mirrors every time you park.

Door mirror puddle lights, automatic arriving/leaving home lighting function and a 3.5 inch TFT multifunction computer are also additions to the Golf Match Edition that offer even more than basic convenience. The multifunction computer and touchscreen display offers the latest generation Discover Navigation system that comes preloaded with European navigation data, branded points of interest, optional routes to suit your driving preferences, Speed Limit Display, dynamic navigation and 2D/3D map view. Stay connected and informed, with minimal route disruption from 3-years’ Car-Net ‘Guide and Inform’ access providing online access to a range of useful information such as traffic, fuel pricing, parking space availability, weather and news feeds.
