Volkswagen Touran

Introduction

Simplicity is key to the enduring charm and popularity of the Volkswagen Touran.

Extensive driver assistances work both passively and actively to keep journeys uncomplicated, and a streamlined exterior belies the capacious and practical interior of the people carrier which can transport up to seven occupants in enclosed luxury.

The new Volkswagen Touran can be discovered at Jardine Motors Group in Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Safety

Euro NCAP has awarded a complete five-star safety rating for the Touran’s comprehensive passenger protection.

All three rows of seating (two in the five-seat model) are equipped with three-point seatbelts, surrounding full size airbags, and integrated head restraints.

Design

The revised front of the model incorporates a defined front grille, reshaped air intake and agile energy-saving headlights, with chrome-edged rubbing strips and LED tail lights completing the model's confident visage. Body-coloured door mirrors and bumpers ensure that the dynamic sculpting of the Touran's shell is uninterrupted, maintaining an aerodynamic airflow across the arched bonnet and gently sloped roof line.

Five-seat and seven-seat variants of the Touran offer unique upholstery options and elegant, relaxing colour schemes. The driver's elevated seating position and fully adjustable three-spoke steering wheel create a wider vantage of the road ahead.

Technology

Eight engines – ranging from 1.2 litres to 2.0 litres – provide the Touran’s robust power, and each one is tuned to deliver the vehicle’s exceptional real-world performance with outstanding fuel economy. The standard 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine with 104bhp propels the Touran to 60mph from a standstill in just 11.9 seconds.

In-cabin entertainment is provided by an eight-speaker surround sound audio system or touchscreen radio with six-CD changer, dependent on the specification level. You can also select rear-view cameras for enhanced manoeuvrability or satellite navigation as paid additions to the Touran’s integrated technology systems.
