Volvo Cars has announced the signing of a new contract with vehicle remarketer Manheim, enabling the latest technologies to be integrated with used car sales systems.
The contract encompasses 26 of the manufacturer’s global markets, including the UK and other key European countries. Volvo is aiming to increase the number of Approved Used models purchased worldwide, alongside a push to grow new car sales.
The solution will be based on Manheim’s RMS enterprise software, supported from locations in the US and Europe. It is being created in partnership with Modix, the brand’s automotive marketing arm in Germany.
Volvo Cars will lead the development of international platforms for pre-owned vehicle inventory management and wholesale transactions with authorised dealerships. Separate technology will help retail customers to use the Volvo Selekt programme, which is the manufacturer’s own Approved Used scheme. Manheim is claiming the move as a first in the automotive industry.
The roll-out of the new systems and technologies is likely to take place in 2016. Once in place, it will facilitate the sale of over 40,000 Approved Used cars from Volvo to the dealer network each year.
A wide selection of high quality Approved Used Volvo models is available from Lancaster Volvo in Reading. Please contact us today for more information.
