Introduction

You might call the new Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf a motoring work of art. It combines the body of a four-door saloon with the power of a supercar, to create one of the rarest super-luxury saloons on the planet.

Originally made exclusively for the Middle East, customer demand persuaded Aston Martin to extend production overseas, with a maximum of 200 Taraf models made for the UK market.

A select number of these limited-edition models are now available to test drive at your local Jardine Motors retailer.

Performance

Under the long bonnet, you’ll find a mighty 550bhp 6-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine - the same unit found in the iconic Rapide S.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, mounted between the rear wheels. This gives the car a blistering top speed of around 200mph, and the ability to reach 0-60mph in just 4.4 seconds.

The Taraf calmly controls all this power, which translates i nto a superb ride and handling - thanks to its longer wheelbase and hydraulically assisted steering.

Design

The first new Lagonda for almost 40 years, the Taraf draws inspiration from its past with subtle hints of the 1976 design, with more striking proportions and a modern, sculptural appeal.

Impressive and imposing, the car’s exterior is crafted with cutting-edge design components, most notably the performance-enhancing, lightweight carbon fibre bodywork, integrated front grille and distinctive slimline headlights.

Inside, it screams luxury, with acres of room for four, and finer details that ensure a deeply calm, comfortable drive. Passengers can make use of the rear seat infotainment system, which includes Wi-Fi and two iPad Minis for streaming on the go.

Originally painted rich Topaz Gold to glow in the light of the Middle-Eastern desert, the Taraf is now available in two equally beautiful finishes: Platinum White and Topaz Chrome, with three pearlescent interior leathers unique to the model.

And, in true Aston Martin style, the Taraf can be personalised down to the very last detail.
