Aston Martin Cambridge's new Ambassador - Ben Murphy
Aston Martin Cambridge are excited to announce that Ben Murphy will represent the dealership this season, whilst displaying with the Blades Aerobatic Team & competing in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.
As the new ambassador, Ben will be showcasing the Aston Martin Cambridge logo on the sleeve of his flying & racing suits and looks forward to representing this iconic marque on a global stage. Pitching his racing skills against 13 of the world most elite pilots, Ben will be racing in eight countries including Japan and The United States of America, with his debut season watched and broadcast to over 300 million people in 151 territories.
Ben’s extensive flying career has taken him far and wide; from leading the world-famous RAF Red Arrows to display flying with The Blades – a team of former Red Arrow pilots. He has clocked up an impressive 4,000 flying hours.
Aston Martin Cambridge has worked closely with Ben and The Blades Team on special projects over the years, including an ambitious trilogy of aviation-inspired Aston Martins, including ten limited edition Vanquish S Red Arrows cars launched at RAF Scampton last autumn. This strong, authentic partnership, linked with a competitive drive to race and perform to the highest level, holds great potential for the future. Watch the display team in action this summer.
“I really appreciate the support and while Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing are testing their performance on F1 tracks around the world it’s a great year to align with the racing pedigree in the air. Simon Lane and his team are great to work with, there’s so many cross overs and I’m keen to see what ideas we can come up with next.”
Dealer Principal Simon Lane is delighted with the new partnership. "Both Ben Murphy and Aston Martin Cambridge represent the Best of British ethos and are equally passionate about their heritage, making the ambassadorship one to be proud of. Aston Martin Cambridge would like to wish Ben the best of luck for his upcoming Red Bull Air Race in Chiba, Japan this month and welcome him behind the steering wheel of their high-performance machines to test his skills on the ground as well as the air."
