On Thursday 3rd December, Aston Martin Sevenoaks saw over 250 people attend the DB10 Tour which is making its way across the network of Aston Martin dealers in the UK. The DB10 which was specially designed for the latest film in the James Bond series, Spectre, will not be going into series production, so this was a great opportunity for our customers to see it ‘in the carbon fibre’, having only previously been shown in an exciting car chase on the silver screen!
During the day 10 customers had demonstration drives in the new Aston Martin DB9 GT. Two professional drivers from Aston Martin took the customers out for a spin around the area and then they got the chance to take hold of the steering wheel for themselves. Once the drives were completed and we headed into the evening, the bar then opened serving champagne and the tipple of choice, vodka martinis. Shaken, not stirred… Obviously! There was also a selection of delicious British themed canapés available for guests to enjoy.
A major highlight of the evening was the talk given by Mark Higgins, the stunt driver from the film Spectre. Mark gave an enthralling talk on his experiences working on the film and driving the DB10 but also provided guests with fascinating insight into his life as a British Rally Champion Driver. The audience was captivated by the many stories he had to share. The big unveil came next, as the cover was removed and customers began to take photographs of the DB10, which was displayed in the showroom nose to nose with 007’s original company car, the classic Aston Martin DB5.
Another huge success on the evening was the two race car simulators we had set up featuring the local Brands Hatch circuit. Customers were competing to get the fastest lap time around the track, with the quickest time winning an experience day at Base Performance Simulators in Banbury. The competition was fierce and the fastest lap time was an impressive 1:37:808.
The DB10 Tour was a great success for us here at Aston Martin Sevenoaks and we want to thank all our customers who attended.
