Aston Martin is planning a new factory to build its upcoming crossover model. There are two possible sites for the new plant in the UK, as well as various others around the world. The planned factory will be operational by late 2017, creating several hundred new jobs.
Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, said that the firm would make its decision before Christmas, as plans are well under way for the production of the new model. The DBX is an electric all-wheel-drive crossover, and it represents a completely new direction for Aston Martin. The DBX concept was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
The DBX is designed to be practical enough for families, and it is a zero emissions vehicle so impact on the environment is greatly reduced. It is also visually striking, combining the classic elements of Aston Martin design into its larger and more imposing frame.
Soon we will find out if this exciting new model is to be built in the UK, and we expect that production will commence in late 2017. To keep abreast of the latest Aston Martin news, please check this page regularly as we update it with new information and model releases as they happen.
