The most exclusive of the Zagato range: the Aston Martin Zagato Speedster is the newest in a line of bespoke models, born from the long-standing relationship between two iconic marques. Zagato; the famous Italian coachbuilder and Aston Martin; the British icon, first married almost 60 years ago to develop the DB4 GT Zagato. The collaboration has become one of the most enduring in car design, spanning more than half a century with no sign of letting up. The bond is instinctive and brings out the best in both brands, creating the most beautiful automotive art, combining bespoke craftmanship, exquisite design and exclusivity.
All models in the Zagato family are based on the Aston Martin Vanquish S and therefore pack the classic 592hp 6.0-litre V12, packing an explosive 465lb ft of torque. The awe-inspiring power is enough to guarantee 0-62mph comfortably under 4.0secs. A full-tilt, the Zagato Speedster will reach a top speed of around 197mph and deliver a driving experience that’s just as memorable as the design.
The highly-rare Speedster features a convertible roof and bold set of Zagato-themed carbon fibre ‘speed humps’, inspired by Aston Martin’s 1950’s racers. The road-hugging lines and emphasised surfaces change and intersect to create a muscular form, while ‘bladed’ Aston Martin Vulcan-inspired, rear LED lamps give a dramatic finish. The famous ‘Z’ motif features on the front grille, rear vent mesh and interior leather trim, while the iconic wings spearhead the unique machine.
All 592 horses in the Zagato Speedster are delivered to the rear wheels via the intuitive eight-speed, paddle-shift Touchtronic III transmission. The entire body, including the ‘double-bubble’ humps sweeping from the rear of the seats is expertly sculpted from carbon fibre.
