The base Q7 is a nicely proportioned big SUV and the SQ7 adds an extra touch of style so onlookers are in no doubt that this is the top of the range. Specific design features include twin vertical slats in the grille, exterior mirror housings in aluminium finish, and four round exhaust tailpipes with chrome trims. Wheels are 21” alloys while the Black Edition and Vorsprung trims upgrades these to 22”. Inside, the front Super Sport seats are upholstered in Valcona leather and embossed with the ‘S’ logo.

Anticipating SUV-worthy adventure, the ‘hill descent control’ function ensures the SQ7 maintains a steady speed when driving downhill, offering a controlled descent in more challenging terrains. Other handy functions available include Parking System Plus, which guides the driver into a space using audible and visual signals, as well as cruise control with speed limiter. For optimum comfort, no matter where this SUV takes you, the three-zone electronic climate control keeps a comfortable and constant ambient temperature with separate controls for the driver, front and rear passengers.
Performance & Technology
The SQ7 is powered by a Twin Turbo 4.0-litre TFSI V8. Performance is amazing for a big SUV; thanks to 507hp and 770Nm of torque, 0-62mph takes just 4.1 seconds. A smooth-shifting eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox and quattro permanent all-wheel drive translate that power into leech-like traction. Sport air suspension and progressive steering come as standard, and the Vorsprung model adds dynamic all-wheel steering for extra agility at low speed and stability out on the open road. A long list of advanced technology comes as standard in the SQ7, including the Audi Virtual Cockpit and MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch. The optional Comfort and Sound pack includes a Bang and Olufsen Sound system, interior lighting pack, Advanced Key and a 360° camera.
Safety
Audi’s driver assistance systems help to avoid or at least mitigate any collisions, using an array of sensors including camera and radar to prompt or assist the driver. All models have Audi Pre-sense front, camera-based traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning and a reversing camera. The optional City Assist pack includes side assist, pre-sense rear, cross traffic assist (front and rear) and will deter you from opening the door when stationary when there are approaching vehicles. The Tour pack adds adaptive cruise assist, traffic sign recognition, collision avoidance and self-steering lane departure warning with emergency assist.
