Audi SQ7

Have you dreamt of the day that a tri-turbocharged V8 diesel engine would power an SUV? Audi has made that happen by creating the SQ7 – and the results are nothing short of staggering.

Capable of sprinting from 0 – 62mph in just 4.8 seconds, the SQ7 boasts 429bhp and 900Nm of torque. It’s still able to achieve 38.2mpg and emits just 194g/km CO2, so efficiency isn’t compromised for impressive performance – and even more remarkably, with its enlarged 85-litre fuel tank, travel for more than 700 miles on one fill.

This hot Audi SUV is set to impress, boasting numerous driver assistance systems, advanced turbo technology, state-of-the-art infotainment and superior suspension control.

The potent powertrain powering the SQ7 sees a twin-turbocharged combustion engine paired with an electric-powered compressor - which is a world first for a series production car - creating a tri-turbo effect and improving immediate acceleration by eradicating turbo lag.

Audi Q Models

The sublime, sophisticated, stylish SQ7 boasts a staggering 24 driver assistance systems to keep occupants and pedestrians as safe as possible in all instances. The cruise control and speed limiter sustain a steady speed, the Anti-Lock Braking System and Electronic Differential Lock maintain maximum braking effort and steering control and Electronic Stability Control reduces the risk of skidding.

The Q7 achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, so we can expect the SQ7 to do the same with its rigid framework and safety systems – the Q7 scored highly in all testing categories, thanks to its airbags, seatbelts, rear seat ISOFIX fittings, seat belt reminder and much more.

The SQ7’s active bonnet protects pedestrians in the event of an impact, plus Audi pre sense city observes the road ahead warns if a collision threat has been identified. The system can take action automatically if the driver takes no precautionary measures.

The SQ7 has a more edgy, athletic look than that of the Q7, with an upgraded grille, redesigned air intakes, uniquely styled bumpers, aluminium door mirror housings and four rectangular tailpipes to emphasise its grunt.

This performance-oriented SUV boasts LED lighting at the front and rear, with headlights available for upgrade to Matrix LED. Its aluminium trim adds an air of refinement, whilst its 20-inch wheels highlight its imposing road presence.

The cabin is available with 5 or 7-seats, and in both cases, subtle, adjustable interior LED lighting is included to create a relaxing atmosphere. Sports seats create an athletic feel, with two different styles available. The SQ7 boasts impressive load capacity, with its 48v lithium-ion battery housed beneath the boot floor, not impacting luggage space.

Steel brakes feature on the SQ7 as standard fitment, but the optional brake package offers carbon-ceramic brake discs, as seen on the second-generation R8.

This top-of-the-range SQ7 comes complete with state-of-the-art technology, including Audi’s exclusive, premium infotainment system as standard.

Benefit from Audi’s state-of-the-art digital virtual cockpit, featuring analogue dials as standard but offering the optional head-up display. Control infotainment using the intuitive MMI scroll wheel, offering easy access to many aspects of entertainment and driver assistance, including the crisp, clear audio played through the elite Bang & Olufsen sound system and its set of up to 19 speakers.

Technology stretches beyond the cabin in the SQ7, with all-wheel steering allowing the rear wheels to turn by up to five degrees - this can be in the same or opposite direction too, depending on the vehicle’s speed. Better yet, the Bavarian marque claims the SQ7 SUV has a drag coefficient of an impressive 0.34, and promotes the SQ7 as the lightest SUV in its class, meaning that it can offer superior handling and efficiency.
