Audi e-tron central launch training a spectacular success

Audi colleagues from around the UK travelled to snow-bound Munich in January to experience the highly anticipated Audi e-tron central launch training (CLT).

More than 560 Centre staff were treated to two days of classroom sessions and dynamic track activities. They enjoyed the thrill of driving our first ever all-electric production car, the Audi e-tron, on the Munich roads, and comparing it with one of the e-tron’s main competitors, the Tesla Model X. The e-tron was also pitted against the Audi TT RS, S4 and SQ5 proving that an electric Audi can hold its own against our top sport models.

Delegates were immersed in the electric lifestyle right from the start, when they drove their e-trons to a public charging point in the city of Munich to plug in their cars for an express charge.

Once charged, they drove to an urban warehouse, Treibwerk, to tackle a range of activities on some of the vehicle’s main components, and to understand the benefits of choosing the optional virtual mirrors.

The Audi e-tron showed off its off-road capabilities, with delegates driving the car up a 35-degree ramp. For the thrill seekers, a pro driver was on hand to take delegates on hot laps around the track to test the car’s handling and speed.

During the evening, our Audi colleagues from the network worked in teams to solve maze/spy mission style activities. They were then given a surprise sneak peek at the Audi e-tron GT.

The lifestyle of an Audi e-tron owner was the focus of day two, and the importance of making sure customers know everything there is to know when purchasing an electric vehicle.

More technical elements of the car were put to the test in a dynamic driving activity to showcase the braking recuperation of the vehicle, and a more technological focus was demonstrated with the integration of Amazon Alexa.

A farewell show rounded off an electrifying experience, with a special preview of future Audi models, including upcoming siblings of the Audi e-tron.
