The Audi A1 quattro

The Audi A1 quattro

In 2013, Audi launched the S1’s extremely rare predecessor, the Audi A1 quattro – it’s the most aggressive Audi A1 ever created, and only 333 were sold worldwide. Just 19 of these were sold in the UK, and 12 are apparently still in the country.

One of these rare hot hatches has been spotted recently for sale, registered in 2013 and with just 2,000 miles on the clock. Featuring ‘Glacier White’ bodywork, 18-inch Turbine Alloys in White, plus a striking rear spoiler, chunky exhaust tailpipes and a race-inspired body kit.

This specific limited edition Audi offers an agile, dynamic ride, powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with output of 252bhp and 258lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed manual transmission and quattro all-wheel drive make for smooth gear changes and supreme traction.

All 333 Audi A1 quattro cars were built as left-hand drive and featured LED daytime running lights, electric sports bucket seats, Xenon headlights, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, automatic air conditioning, a sports exhaust and unique quattro badging. Compared to the standard Audi A1, more than 600 alterations were made to create the A1 quattro.

Sitting in the sports-oriented cabin, enjoy a low-slung driving position, feel the leather sports steering wheel and textured gear lever, and rest your feet on the well-positioned aluminium pedals – put your foot down to reach 0 – 62mph in just 5.7 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 152mph.

This particular example has been enhanced by the addition of High Beam Assist, Advanced Key, a BOSE Surround Sound System and many more neat touches.

Explore the current Audi A1 range with the Jardine Motors Group, with three and five door variants available, and the range-topping, sporty S1 offering a similar experience to the A1 quattro.
