The Audi R8 V10 plus ‘selection 24’
The all-new Audi R8 LMS entered the Nürburgring 24hrs for the first time last year – and it triumphed on its first attempt, blasting the opposition out of the water. The 2016 Nürburgring 24 is almost upon us, so Audi has decided to celebrate by launching a limited edition vehicle.
The 602bhp R8 V10 plus ‘selection 24’ is Audi’s way of marking the fantastic victory, paying homage to the R8 LMS GT3. Half of the components used in the race-winning model have been utilised to create this exclusive supercar that has been carefully crafted for the road.
Just two dozen of these limited edition R8 V10 plus ‘selection 24’ supercars will be sold by the Bavarian brand for an as yet undisclosed sum, and will be powered by an engine that’s almost identical to the Audi R8 V10 plus. The ‘selection 24’ takes just 3.2 seconds to hit 62mph from a standing start, rapidly reaching its 205mph top speed.
On the outside, the R8 V10 plus ‘selection 24’ combines ‘competition-inspired styling enhancements with an exceptional specification’, which features laser lighting, striking bodywork and various gloss-finish carbon-fibre features. These include the front spoiler, wing mirrors, bonnet lid, rear wing, diffuser and sideblades, with the latter also featuring a unique ‘R8 24’ logo to make these limited edition Audi R8s really stand out.
The race-ready interior boasts a ‘monoposto art’ design, as well as illuminated door sills adorned with serial numbers from 1 to 24, making each R8 V10 plus ‘selection 24’ truly unique.
This tribute supercar is expected to be publically unveiled at the Nordschleife at the end of May, so keep your eyes peeled. To take an Audi R8 V10 plus out for a test drive in the meantime, get in touch with the team at Jardine Motors Audi and discover its power, poise and perfection.
