The TT RS Roadster Coming Soon

Later this year, we’re expecting the launch of the new Audi TT RS Roadster – and it has recently been spotted at the Nürburgring in Germany, being put through its paces.

With the TT RS Coupé on its way too, the Roadster is understood to be ready for release just afterwards, as the Bavarian brand’s most potent and alluring convertible.

Both the Coupé and the Roadster have been spotted undergoing track testing, and both their style and performance were found to be flawless. Both vehicles are expected to share the same powertrain: the RS 3’s turbocharged five-cylinder unit, able to produce 362bhp – but will that be pushed even higher? Maybe even to 400bhp?

A four-wheel drive system and a choice of a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic transmission will potentially offer the TT RS Roadster a 0 – 62mph time of under four seconds, all the way to a top speed of 180mph.

Subtle styling changes mark the new TT RS Roadster out, with new front and rear bumpers, a lower ride height, deeper front air intakes, oval exhaust pipes and a large rear spoiler expected for production – and not forgetting that distinguished convertible roof.
