The luxury car manufacturer is set to reveal two new sportscars in motor shows next year, according to Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer. One will be a faster and more imposing incarnation of the Bentayga. The other will be an electric two-seater hypercar modelled on the EXP 10 Speed Six concept car.
The news broke at the launch of the new Bentayga SUV in Spain, where Durheimer confirmed that both models are almost ready to begin production. There is no doubt that these developments have sprung from the runaway success of the Bentayga, which sold extremely well and prompted Bentley to increase production by more than 40 percent in its first year.
This success has given Bentley both the confidence and the investment to press ahead with both of these radical models. They will make their debut in 2016, and we may even see a concept in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
There will also be two additional versions of the current Bentayga, one with a turbo-diesel engine and one which is petrol-electric hybrid-powered. These models are expected to go on sale in the next 12 to 18 months.
