M3 Competition Saloon 2022

DESIGN

The BMW M3 Competition owns an aggressive appearance, as the stripped-back and frameless BMW M kidney grille merges into an athletic and heavily contoured bonnet. Drivers can choose between a range of four new BMW M paint trims, including the Isle of Man Green, Sao Paulo Yellow, Skyscraper Grey and Brooklyn Grey, as well as the classic BMW colours. This boldness is given a razor sharp edge due to design features such as the carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, distinguished high-gloss black runner boards beneath the doors, Extended LED headlights with Shadowline effect and the choice of colour for the brake callipers – Red, Blue or Black. The combination of classic BMW saloon silhouette and the signature M features – the M-specific exterior mirrors, M gills and rear spoiler – gives the M3 Competition an imposing look and feel. Such details are available in High-Gloss Black or, optionally, buyers can opt for the Carbon Package. Carbon Fibre trims found on interior details such as the gear selector, gear-shift paddles and the dashboard are available as standard for a renowned BMW M feel. As well as this, electric M Seats in Merino leather with the embedded M logo come as standard, or drivers can opt for the M Carbon bucket seats as an extra.

PERFORMANCE

Featuring a new BMW M Auto Gearbox and track-inspired lightweight BMW M components, the BMW M3 Competition hosts a 3.0 litre straight-six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine, which comes with two turbocharges and the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drive logic as standard. The result? 510hp and 650Nm of torque, going from 0 to 62mph in just 3.9 seconds. The model reaches a top speed of 155mph as standard, or buyers can opt to increase the top speed to approximately 180mph at an additional cost. Combined with the Active M Differential and other new track-inspired technologies, powerful performance is a given. As a two-rear-wheel drive (with a four-wheel drive model coming soon), precision handling will no doubt satisfy the high expectations of BMW fans.

SAFETY

M Adaptive Suspension ensures the driver receives optimised tyre contact with the road and enhanced traction in most situations. To complement this, the 19” (front) and 20” (rear) M light alloy Double-Spoke Bicolour Black wheels, with a total of four design combinations, aid superior handling. The Driving Assistant feature provides Lane Change Warning, rear crossing traffic warning and Rear Collision Prevention amongst others to add an extra layer of intelligence. As well as this, the Reversing Assistant with Reverse Camera and Active Park Distance Control will help provide a greater confidence to the driver when manoeuvring in and out of spaces. Additionally, drivers can opt for the extra Park Assistant Plus with Drive Recorder.
