Maria Albanese, a 21 year old second year Apprentice Technician at Newbury Honda came top of her class during her first year and is continuing to excel in her chosen career.
More and more women are choosing technical careers in the automotive trade and JMG are proud to support their development. Maria commented;
‘I’ve really enjoyed my time so far with Newbury Honda and am looking forward to getting stuck in during my second year. I always knew I wanted to get into a technical automotive role and have a lot of friends also working in the sector. I’ve never found it to be a problem being a female in the workshop; I’m just another technician like everyone else!’
Maria previously worked for a small independent garage for around 18 months while attending college on a day release basis before joining Jardine Motors Group at the Newbury Honda dealership in July 2015 and she has not looked back since.
Martin Day, Dealer Principal for Newbury Honda, said;
‘Having now completed her first year with us, Maria has fully embraced the Honda approach to exceptional customer service, with both customers and colleagues full of praise for her dedication to the role and professional approach.’
Maria is a very capable, valued and respected member of the team. She is able to complete a range of duties including servicing and multi-point checks with minimum supervision, and is now moving onto diagnosing more complex faults. She is very excited to continue her career development and training within JMG.
