With inspiration taken from one of Italy’s most beautiful towns; internationally synonymous with understated luxury. The new Ferrari Portofino is a unique GT that re-defines the combination of sportiness, elegance and on-board comfort. Ferrari have produced an exceptional drop-top supercar, which boasts the USP of being the most powerful convertible on the market. An elegant GT with true, hard-edged performance.
The Ferrari Portofino is a V8-powered coupe-convertible capable of unleashing a massive 600hp, the engine is a derivative of the familiar 3.9-litre Ferrari V8. Mounted in the front of the car, it’s capable of comfortably sprinting from 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds. With a top speed limited at 199 mph and 561lb ft of torque ready to be unleashed. The new model features a much stiffer chassis, twin-clutch transmission and upgraded exhaust system. Improving how the V8 breathes; increasing efficiency and re-composing its roaring soundtrack.
Ferrari have carefully sculpted the Portofino’s bodywork to reduce drag and improve aerodynamics without the need for wings or spoilers. The lines are more aggressive than the California and the shape continues to evolve Ferrari’s famously aesthetic design language. Low lines, narrow LED headlights and angled cuts create a lean, sculpted body. Under the folding hard top and muscular panels is a roomy boot and generous cockpit space, along with two rear seats suitable for short journeys. A lot of attention has been poured into the lavish cabin, with features intended to reduce noise and increase comfort. For instance a new wind deflector that claims to reduce buffeting by 30% when the top is down.
The all-new aluminium chassis is significantly lighter than the California T, thanks to the use of modern production techniques allowing weight savings despite the increased rigidity and performance. The Portofino takes full advantage of Ferrari’s most modern technologies. The third-generation ‘E-Diff3’ integrated with the ‘F1-Trac’ system maximises mechanical grip in the corners, while power steering increases fuel economy without diluting the exhilarating driving experience. Inside the Portofino features a 10.2 inch touch-screen infotainment system and 18-point electronically adjustable seats, designed to maximise comfort and increase leg room in the rear of the cabin.
