Honda has this week launched the first ever Civic Pride Week, running until 31 August, to celebrate everything that’s wonderful about the Civic.
Honda has sold almost 20 million Civics around the world, creating a community of passionate Civic enthusiasts. So Civic Pride Week is the perfect way to show appreciation for the beauty of this iconic car.
Plus we can get excited about the impending arrival of the new generation Civic, reaching the roads in the UK in 2017.
Did you know the Civic is 43 years old? It currently stands as the second-longest running marque in the world. In that time it has picked up endless accolades, won countless races and even been a muse to Quentin Tarantino.
The first ever Civic hit the roads in 1973 with a 50bhp engine and front wheel drive. It was sold under the tagline “It’ll get you where you’re going.”
The new 2017 Honda Civic will be the tenth generation, and comes with a wealth of styling and personalisation options. It will also be built in Britain, at Honda’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Swindon.
Official details are to follow, but we already know that the 2017 Civic will feature new engines and the roofline will be lower and sleeker. It will retain the large wheels and long wheelbase, making a sporty but spacious hatchback.
Excited about the new generation Civic? Honda is offering five lucky people (and their friends) the chance to explore the home of the Civic with a tour of the Honda factory in Swindon, the Civic’s global manufacturing base.
You’ll be able to get up close and personal with the new Civic and see how the cars are made. Find out how robots help with the manufacturing and speak to Honda’s experts about the process.
Submit your details on the Honda website for your chance to win.
As part of Civic Pride Week, Honda is looking for your help selecting the greatest Civic ever.
Every day Honda will nominate five Civics around a theme, and the public will vote for their favourite. The first theme is ‘Customised Civics’.
Get involved on social media with the hashtag #CivicPrideWeek. Post a picture of your Civic and let us know your favourite model.
