Huracán model, the Huracán Performante
Spyder is built on the benchmarking prowess of its coupé stablemate in
The Huracán Performante has decided to lower its roof and transform itself into the Spyder with the highest performance that the Huracán family has ever seen. Introducing the newest car to grace the infamous Lamborghini family, the Huracán Performante Spyder. With the sole purpose of delivering the best possible driving experience to the driver, the Performante Spyder excels on all fronts.
The Huracán Performante Spyder is clearly a Lamborghini, with the distinct lines and ‘hexagonita’ Lamborghini design cues throughout the hybrid chassis of carbon fibre and aluminium. Featuring the complex, open, ‘naked motorcycle’ design at the rear, clearly insinuating the car’s inimitable performance, its fabric top in the style of a true Spyder, folds under the rear engine cover to give the car its distinctly stunning looks whether roof open or closed.
The Huracán Performante Spyder is dominated by the 5.2 litre V10 naturally-aspirated engine, which produces an exhilarating 640 hp at 8,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. With more than 70% of torque already available at 1,000 rpm, the open-top Performante accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph in an outstanding 3.1 seconds. Its top speed of 202 mph matches its coupé stablemate.
With a dry weight of just 1,507 kg, the Performante Spyder returns a weight-to-power ratio of 2.35 kg/hp, with weight distribution front/rear of 43/57%.
The Huracán Performante Spyder adopts Lamborghini’s award-winning and patented active aerodynamics system, the ingenious Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA). Electronically-controlled flaps within front splitter and rear wing direct airflow as required to maximise downforce in dynamic handling or ensure minimum drag in high speed environments. It also enables aero vectoring, directing airflow through ducts either side of the car to ensure maximum grip in high-speed cornering.
The Huracán Performante Spyder features design and technology at its core. Lamborghini’s Adaptive Network Intelligence Management – ANIMA - or ‘soul’ in Italian, allows three driving modes to be selected for street, sporty or track-driving environments.
Lamborghini’s Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI) system governs all the car’s electronic
systems in real time including the car’s set-up, as well as activating the ALA system in less than 500 milliseconds, ensuring the best aerodynamic set-up of the car in every driving condition.
The roof opens in a swift 17 seconds while travelling at a speed of 31mph, making the transition from roof to top down effortless.
Although a high-performing open top car, the Huracán Performante Spyder comes complete with all comms functions and Apple CarPlay, with cabin aerodynamics designed to provide a remarkably comfortable acoustic environment for the cabin occupants, with roof open or closed.
