The supercar segment will gain a stunning new addition in the spring of next year when Lamborghini’s Huracan Spyder arrives at showrooms. The roadster was unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show where details on its unrelenting V10 engine were confirmed.
The 602bhp naturally-aspirated powertrain is shared with the current Huracan coupé, as is the four-wheel drive system that underpins the model. Over the coupé, the Spyder gets an electric soft-top roof that can be hidden away in 17 seconds when travelling at speeds of up to 31mph.
The luxury of a folding roof hasn’t come at the expense of potent Lamborghini performance. The vehicle will be capable of charging from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds. Beyond this, 201mph can be reached.
Stylistically, the convertible is a near match for its fixed roof sibling. One main difference is the addition of an integrated duct at the rear which stabilises the car during open-top driving. For a bespoke finish, buyers can choose from 11 exterior colours and three roof options. For the interior, Lamborghini offers 17 separate shades and five trim levels. The firm’s Ad Personam programme provides even more opportunities for personalisation.
Details on UK pricing are yet to be announced, but any updates can be read here on the Lamborghini Sevenoaks news page. For a test drive in any current-generation Lamborghini, please enquire with our dealership team.
