Esteemed leaders in their respective fields, Lamborghini and the tyre manufacturer Pirelli have reaped the benefits of various collaborations since Lamborghini was formed in 1963. The two companies' latest joint venture is the Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition, limited numbers of which will be produced in both coupé and roadster body styles.
When the Pirelli Edition comes to the UK, Lamborghini Sevenoaks will be among the very first retailers in the country to stock this exclusive vehicle. Get in touch with Brent Smith our Sales specialist today for further enquiries about the vehicle.
The geometric, viciously angular form of the Pirelli Edition, like that of any Lamborghini, ensures that it could only have come from the manufacturers stable. Deep-set headlamps sit atop a gaping grille and front air intakes, whilst further air intakes at the side leave no doubt as to the vehicle’s performance capabilities. The special nature of these particular models are emphasised by two-tone paintwork, the Pirelli crest, and a thin red racing stripe running along the roof, bonnet, side mirrors, and air intakes.
Inside, the driver and front passenger are treated to a cabin boasting new leather and carbon fibre detailing, as well as a “Pirelli special series” plaque on the dashboard, and the seats feature Lamborghini and Pirelli designs in red stitching.
The carbon-fibre monocoque structure of the Pirelli Edition, along with its front, side, thorax and knee airbags for the driver and passenger, provide excellent protection in the event of an accident. A sophisticated dual-hydraulic circuit brake system, supplemented by ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, gives additional stability. And, of course, the 20” or 21” gloss-black wheels are shod in Pirelli tyres that offer the excellent grip one would expect.
Like the standard Aventador, the Pirelli Edition is fitted with a monstrously powerful V12 petrol engine boasting 691bhp and maximum torque of 690Nm. The enormous thrust of this engine, when combined with a modest dry weight of 1575kg and an exceptionally low drag coefficient of 0.23, gives the vehicle 0-62mph acceleration in 2.9 seconds, 0-100mph acceleration in 5.8 seconds, and 0-150mph acceleration in 14 seconds. A top speed of 217mph ensures that the Pirelli Edition will rarely be outclassed – even on track days.
A seven-speed ISR automatic transmission delivers smooth and rapid adjustment as the car accelerates and decelerates. The Drive Select Mode allows you to tailor the style of your drive to suit the current circumstances and your own preferences, while the Haldex four-wheel drive system guarantees maximum stability in all situations.
