Despite its geometric, ultra-modern looks, the Aventador LP 750-4 Roadster is an old-fashioned open-top racer par excellence.
With the roof off and the rear windshield fully down, the combination of velocity, powerful breezes and the noise of a V12 engine is a rare privilege.
The SV’s bespoke TFT instrument panel features a G-force monitor, and can be set to any one of six colour configurations of your choice.
Standard safety features include Electronic Stability Programme and Anti-lock Braking System, both of which provide you with greater control in a range of driving situations.
For you and your fellow passenger’s added safety, airbags are positioned at front and side, with particular emphasis on protection of head and thorax areas.
Constructed from very lightweight materials, the SV Roadster weighs only 1,575kg, ensuring that it is both aerodynamic and capable of exceptionally high speeds. The front bonnet, front fenders and door are all wrought from aluminium. A fixed rear spoiler, made from carbon fibre, can be adjusted to three positions to reflect different downforce conditions. One of many appealing qualities possessed by the vehicle is its removable two-piece hard top, which weighs less than 12kgs. The aggressive bearing of the vehicle is partly due to 20-inch front wheels and rear wheels that are an inch larger. Each wheel is fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, made especially for the SV Roadster.
The detachable hard top can be removed quickly and easily and stored inside the car’s boot. And the electrically-operated rear window can be opened or closed whether the roof is on or off.
Once the canopy is off, you and your passenger can enjoy limitless headroom, which adds to an already-thrilling driving experience.
As with the exterior, the cockpit is made with lightweight materials that are also extremely durable.
Driver and passenger sports seats come with eye-catching Y-shaped leather inserts and are upholstered in Alcantara.
Up to 739bhp and 690Nm of torque at 5,500rpm is produced by a 6.5-litre V12 engine. The Superveloce – or ‘super-quick’ – lives up to its name with 0-60mph possible in less than three seconds and a top speed of 217mph.
With seven-speed ISR transmission, it’s possible to achieve gear changes 50% quicker than is typically attained with a standard dual-clutch gearbox.
There are three drive modes to choose from (Strada, Sport and Corsa), any of which can be selected to reflect on-road conditions as well as personal preference.
