New Range Rover
Design When you think of Range Rover, one word springs to mind: luxury. And the new model has it in abundance. Whilst its familiar silhouette remains intact, the SUV has received a modern makeover. With flush elements such as pop-out door handles contributing to its smoother and cleaner look, the new Range Rover boasts improved aerodynamics and a sporty presence. As a result, it has a drag coefficient of as little as 0.30. At the rear, ‘hidden until lit’ taillights are invisible in gloss black when not in use, with red LEDs illuminating as soon as you turn them on. Inside, this air of refinement continues. The cabin is a sanctuary of comfort with premium upholstery found in every corner, including the use of eco-friendly alternative materials. Available in Standard or Long Wheelbase, the Range Rover comfortably provides space for four, five, or – for the first time – seven adults.

Performance The Ranger Rover is offered with two plug-in electric hybrid powertrains, offering up to 62 miles of electric-only range. The 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine is combined with a 105kW motor and is available in P440e or P510e variants, offering 434bhp and 503bhp respectively. With 50kW charging capacity, you can achieve 80% charge in less than an hour. There are also mild hybrid options with a choice of diesel and petrol engines, with power outputs ranging between 246bhp and 395bhp, and increased efficiency with the likes of regenerative braking. Finally, the new performance-oriented 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine boasts 530hp and 750Nm of torque, making the 0-60mph sprint in just 4.4 seconds with Dynamic Launch. When adventure calls, you can choose from a range of terrain modes including Wading, which allows you to drive through water up to 900mm deep.

Technology The latest generation of Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment system is operated via a 13.1” floating touchscreen, whilst a 13.7” driver display displays key information below the optional head-up display. In the back, passengers can binge their favourite TV shows on 11.4” HD screens controlled by an 8” touchscreen controller, so no journey is at risk of being too long. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available, as well as a built-in Amazon Alexa and wireless charging. Prioritising comfort, active noise cancellation works in tandem with acoustic laminated glass whilst optional air purification technology reduces unwanted odours, bacteria, and allergens in the car. Massage seats, four-zone climate control and Meridian Signature Sound is also available, with over-the-air software updates as standard.
