Land Rover’s greatest sales success story and fastest selling model of all time, the Range Rover Evoque, has recently hit five years of production at the advanced Halewood manufacturing facility near Liverpool.
Here’s a few facts to whet your appetite: a Range Rover Evoque is built every 170 seconds. It’s sold globally in more than 180 countries. Half a million have been built since 4th July 2011. In 2015, one in four Land Rover sales was an Evoque. And in just five years, the Evoque has picked up almost 200 awards.
The most efficient Land Rover of all is fitted with a British-built Ingenium engine boasting class-leading CO2 emissions of 109g/km and impressively low fuel consumption of 68mpg.
To keep up with the high volume of customer orders, Halewood has been running non-stop, with 24-hour production and 4,000 staff members working more than three million night shift hours and consuming almost 700,000 cups of coffee over the course of five years.
The team has worked so hard and produced such great results that Halewood Operations has been given 11 regional business awards – better yet, they recently won the ‘UK Manufacturer of the Year’ title at the Insider MADE in the UK Manufacturing Awards 2016.
The Evoque is the world’s most recognisable and luxurious compact SUV – and it’s now also available as a soft-top, in the form of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible; the world’s first luxury SUV convertible.
