Range Rover Evoque XL Planned for 2016

Land Rover is expected to release a larger, lightweight Range Rover model in 2016 that will be placed alongside the current Evoque model.

Analysts at Bernstein Research say that the new model will feature the same aluminium platform as current compact models and will be produced at the manufacturer’s new facility in Solihull.

Predicted to be the most profitable model of the five body styles (four Jaguars and this new Range Rover), the Evoque XL is expected to achieve annual sales of up to 80,000 units. It is also likely to become Range Rover’s most economical model, with a combination of a lightweight aluminium structure and four-cylinder ‘Hotfire’ engines. It will also be smaller than the C-X17 concept and be priced from about £33,000.
