From idealistic concept to arresting reality, the LC has been engineered to mark the beginning of a new era and will arrive in Lexus dealerships in 2017, forming a united vision for design and engineering.
This flagship luxury sport coupé is the product of collaboration between Lexus Design and Engineering teams, and certainly makes a strong statement about the future direction of the brand, committed to design, performance and artisan craftsmanship.
The expressive design, experience and character found in the LC are unlike that of any other Lexus, oozing performance, agility and fierce exhilaration – if you’re in the pursuit of a sharper, dynamic, more refined driving experience, you’ve found it, complete with superior ride quality and an opulent interior.
The LC will boast Lexus’ renowned safety technology, Lexus Safety System +, which integrates several of the brand’s active safety technologies: the Pre-Collision System (PCS), which helps to prevent and mitigate collisions; Lane Keep Assist (LKA), which helps to prevent vehicles from departing from their lanes; Automatic High Beam (AHB), which helps to ensure optimal forward visibility during night-time driving, and All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (All-speed DRCC).
As the most structurally rigid car Lexus has ever produced, expect great handling as well as a safe, secure cabin.
This provocative, athletic flagship coupé has been emotionally crafted with sensual curves and flowing lines, the trademark angular Lexus grille, plus sharp detailing and neat shaping, leaving no aspect neglected.
This sublime creation unites function and performance with impassioned form, defined by an athletic aerodynamic shape, which invites spirited, sporting driving with intuitive control. Slimly designed, multi-layered tail lamps, as well as a rear diffuser and optional active rear spoiler enhance the low, wide, imposing stance of the LC.
Step inside to experience the height of luxury and a fresh design, with a 2+2 seat layout and racy instruments. Find magnesium paddle-shifters for a premium touch, optional supple leather and Alcantara seating surfaces, plus exquisite door panels, centre console and dashboard, which boast the craftsmanship of Lexus’ renowned Takumi.
A sunken driving position that exploits the low centre of gravity in the car boasts a driver-focused layout, creating an engaging yet seductive atmosphere when behind the wheel.
As soon as the LC was revealed to the world, it was awarded the prestigious EyesOn Design Award for best production car and best designed interior, highlighting the mark it has already made in the minds of some of the top design chiefs around the globe.
In addition to the technology used in the advanced safety systems, find Triple-LED Headlamps to light up your way, a newly developed traction-control system to keep you on track, plus the latest infotainment system in the cabin to provide music to your ears; a Pioneer premium system will also be available.
The LC is the first Lexus to use the all-new, premium rear-wheel-drive luxury platform, the innovative ‘GA-L’ rear-wheel drive architecture, and features weight-saving materials such as carbon-fibre and aluminium to enhance performance.
The proven all-aluminium, 32-valve, 5.0-litre V8 engine was chosen to be at the heart of the LC 500, which offers a smooth, linear throttle response, and it’s complemented by a 10-speed, single-clutch automatic gearbox, a Lexus first. All of this technology combines to produce 467 hp, 389 lb-ft of torque and 0 – 60mph in under 4.5 seconds – and it’s a four-person coupé.
